The Living Caribbean is a collection of short stories about the present tense. London, Toronto, Fort Lauderdale, New York, and whoever stayed — held together by flights, remittances, voice notes and a thread nobody can leave.
Somebody has to make the arrangements. It is always the one who lives nearest.
Each story stands alone. Together they ask what a family is once it stops living in one country.

Nos. 01–02
Pat starts the group forty minutes after her mother dies, because somebody has to. Four countries, three time zones, and every argument the family has been avoiding for thirty years, in a thread nobody can leave.
The current goes at twenty to seven — the fan first, then the fridge, then the small green light on the router. Novlette is standing at the stove. Outside, the whole street comes to the wall.
