We collect your email only if you give it to us. We use basic analytics. We earn a commission on some book links. We do not sell your data to anyone, for any reason. What we collect
Information you give us
If you join The Maroon House Reader, we collect your email address. If you submit a manuscript or contact us, we collect whatever you put in that message. That is all — we do not ask for anything we do not need.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours records basic technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate region, browser and device type, and the site you arrived from. This is aggregate traffic data. It is not used to identify you personally.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else.
- To reply to your message or your submission.
- To understand which books and pages readers are actually finding, so we can publish and promote better.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not run advertising on this site.
Third parties
A small number of services process data on our behalf, each under its own privacy policy: our email newsletter provider, Google Analytics for traffic measurement, our website host, and Amazon for affiliate links. We share only what those services need in order to work.
Cookies
This site uses cookies for basic functionality and analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask us to tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Write to thehouse@maroonhousepress.com and we will action it.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or the CCPA. We honor those requests regardless of where you are.
Children
This site is intended for adults. Several of our titles are published for adult readers only. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen.
